All brackets and most of our products are pine treated in oil based treatment, please request untreated if bracket will be stained or laquered for internal use. We will also replicate your existing brackets/frettwork to requirements. Timber brackets are used throughout the exterior of the home to decorate otherwise empty corners. Some other terms for the bracket include Post bracket, gable support bracket, eve bracket, shelf bracket, interpost bracket, pilaster bracket, much like in other industries the bracket in the decorative period market is named according to it's use. The overall appearance of the decoration usually determines it's use for a particular application and can even hamper the bracket's use in some circumstances. For example placing what would normally be used as a post corner bracket as an eve bracket may and probably be too fancy for the particular application. Nonetheless in some styles like high high victorian or gothic revival placing overally ornate decorative items is what is called for.

Used Inbetween a pair of corner brackets, nearly all corner brackets can be mirrored to create your own custom middle bracket. We also have a few standard middle brackets to help you start.

Used under an Eve of your home. There are an endless source of possibilities with eve brackets. Some are simple and sparsed out light around the eves of the home, while others can be as ornate as a hand carving, evenly spaced between other decorations like cricketbats or rosettes. We can manufacture your custom eve bracket with the desired materials, and can even have your finials replicated to suit. Our standard range of eve brackets come in 2 thicknesses, 35mm or 45mm. For your custom eve bracket we can cater for thicker material.

Fretwork is quoted by the centimetre, according tomeasurements supplied. Standard fretwork cut from18mm craftwood and framed in 32 X 70 mm craftwood with 45 degree bevel. Quote subject to change with material choice and other customisation. Common customisation include changes in framing styles, design changes and material choice like: pine, cedar ,meranti, and hardwoods.

Frieze, a French word meaning repetition. It is widely used to denoted the reptitive patterns used on architecture from wallpaper frieze to concrete moulds. Australian external timber Frieze work is one of the most popular themes for home decoration. Some are simple with nothing more than straight slats of timber resting on a rail, while others blur the line between fretwork and friezework. We at ACS have termed friezework for anything that includes several joins and a repetiion of peices. This entails straight railed freize, arch railed freize, combinations of arched and straight, and some that are harder to describe without illustrations. In any case we build frieze from timbers of your choice. Our standard frieze are manufactured from pine treated in oil based treatment or re-dried treated pine. All of our frieze joinery are meticulously hand crafted and glued/screwed/nailed permanently.

Bargeboard trim and custom cut bargeboard attachments, eg. dog ears, are one of the simplest ways to brighten up a home. We have a standard range of 19 styles to choose from. All are scroll cut from marine plys and are available in lengths of 900mm or 1150mm and are approximately 115mm wide (dimensions vary with chosen style). Also available are 32mm thick versions which are normally affixed under the bargeboard, giving the impression that the scrollwork was a part of the entire bargeboard.

Gable inserts and Gable Trim turn a home into a true work of art. * INSERT...Goes flush ontop of wall and under Gable Eve, ontop of cement cladding. * TRIM.......Under or just behind the apex of the bargeboard, leaving the wall as the backdrop (brick, weatherboard or shingles) From tiny bargeboard fixtures to entire gable decorations, inserts of all varieties, decorative, simple, or plain can be handcrafted to suit. Some are complicated designs with railed arches, corner brackets, dental moulding, recessed finial, horizontal finials, evebrackets, bargeboard trim, all incorporated to bring together a defining masterpeice. Manufacturing techinques for Gable decorations can stem from all of our product range. As a starting point typical flat gable decorations are scroll cut from marine plywood. For extremely large work (6m wide by 2m high) we do need to join material, in which case we use only the best joining techniques.

With a large range of inserts, choosing the right one for your hallway fretwork, external Friez, gate, window awning, or even a custom corner bracket can be achieved. For any custom cut outs please provide an existing piece, a trace of the piece or a clear photo of the piece. For custom dimensions differing from standard some exra costs may incur. Inserts of all varieties are used in fences, balustrading, staircase manufacture, friez and a myriad of other possible places. For external use: we only use redried treated pine. Staircases are usually manufactured from vic ash, in which we can cater for your insert needs.

In any case your gate can be made from near any timbers when ordering through ACS timber Fretwork. Our standard gates are manufactured from re-dried treated pine. We use some of the oldest joining techniques which allow you to design gates upto 2.1metres wide and as high as you like. After meticulously machineing the timbers for joinery we glue the gate together with marine glues and wait for curing before giving it a light sand ready for you to paint. The design possibilities are endless, especially considering the array of existing paterns you could use to brighten up your gate from our inserts range.

These can be quoted assembled with ripple iron, in which case all you have to do is affix it over your window. They can be bought in any stage of completion from just the side peices to it being complete, framed and screwed with or without the ripple iron and flashing. Our standard range is manufactured from 90x35mm pine and are trenched around a solid piece of marine ply and glue/screwed/nailed permanently together. Dropper styles are interchangeable upon request, and any type of scroll work can be placed into the slatted section. We also have a myriad of brackets to choose from, or you can always use your own design.
