A Little About Us...We here at ACS Timber Fretwork have been involved in Fretsaw/Scroll saw work for over 20+ years now. No job has been too small or complicated for our dedicated ability. We don't turn back client inspired creations - and if we can't do it, we'll find some-one who can. Although we would rather concentrate on cutting intricate peices, than to sacrifice our speciality in this field, we seldom invent new techniques to cope with special requests. When it comes to finding or manufacturing items out of our scope, we always deal with the same specialists in fields such as wood turning, moulding and other miscelany. In many ways our skills are reflected in the items that we build. From the bent timber rails to the materials that we are able to scroll cut through. Some of the fantastic work that is possible is only limited by the imagination, and period homes are in no short supply of that here at ACS Timber Fretwork. We have a high regard for you the client and your wishes. In every case we make sure that an understanding is reached concerning, the final appearance, the material used, and the measurements involved. In every respect, all are finalised before commencement of works. We deal with online and telephone queries, interstate - and even internationally. Everything is hand drawn and design by one of two skilled artists, to your requirements. We have our standard range of items too!, if they can be called standard, but on the whole we excel in making 'real' fretwork. Today, sadly because of the advent of the computer age simple tasks such as drawing an object onto paper or a piece of wood have been lost. So items like a custom Hallway Fretwork cannot be made without extravagant pricing. You buy what's off the shelf, or you can search the country for some-one willing to do an adequate job. Your search is over. We not only have the off the shelf items ready for you to order, but we cater for replication of Existing pieces, be it a part of your house, furniture, or something you drew yourself. Our quality of cut is on par with non. No burnt edges from Laser manufacture, no rounded corners from Routed manufacture. We can scale our quality for the desired product, ie a hand polished grandfather clock, to oil painted exterior brackets. In either case, there isn't a machine that could keep up with our skills. If you do find some-one that also manufactures with our techniques, then please inquire about them and their practices. You'll find that the service and ability to manufacture to requirements far out-ways the savings available from hardware store merchandise. About pricing... Normally most would consider professionally consulted manufacture out of reach, but here we understand that the price of service is as cheap as a happy smile. From interior hallway dividers to custom replication we take out the angst of having to deal with various people to cut out something as simple as 2 corner brackets from timber. The person you deal with is also the person who will be doing the work. So if it takes 5mins it will be charged at five minutes. If it takes two weeks then we'll look at the project as a whole and decide on a reasonable price. Of course, we have our standard pricing structure, and off the shelf items, in which you the client can decide on what is affordable to your requirements. About consultation... Since we have been in the period home renovators market for about 20 years, we seem to have developed a taste for what is do-able and what isn't. We've collected a vast array of styles and period pieces in the past, and still do to this day. Catalogue-ing them hasn't been easy, but on the whole our memories still server us well regarding where and when an item was used. Today though, a requirement to create newly inspired pieces is frequently increasing our array of templates. From mixtures of fretwork to gates of amalgamated designs, and strange contraptions that need explanation from the designer, the range is quite literally infinite.
